Butcher in old Market Hall

Started by: stevek (22)

Asking for someone else.
Does anyone know of a lad who worked in one of the butchers in the Market Hall who died in a motor cycle accident 1968/69. He would have been about 21, and his first name is thought to have been James?
Bit vague I know, but that's all the info I have.

I worked with a lad who worked at Frank Kings who died in 1961/2. Not sure if it was on a motorbike. His name was Jim and he was in the Boys Brigade. I still have the newspaper clipping somewhere with more info. He would have been about 19. We were all good mates as butchers apprentices back then.

Hi I've just joined and noticed the post, I'm doing family reasearch for my wife and I presume this is related to her post on Facebook.
We are looking for a surname for James, The only information we have is he worked in a butchers in the market and possibly died in a motorcycle accident some time between May 1968 and January 1969.
His girlfriend at the time would of been Katherine.
Its a long shot but any information would be appreciated.
Thank you

Death listed as December 1961. Certificate reference 10f829.
The death certificate will give the date of death and narrow down a newspaper search. The history shop in Library Street has the local newspapers on microfiche going way back in time. A wider geographic newspaper search, on microfiche, is available at Manchester central library. Staff in both places are very helpful.
Parents Henry and Mary, mn Stazicker, were living at 3 Water Street, Ince in 1939.

The Jame's we are searching would of been alive in May 1968 as his daughter was born in January 1969.
We are not sure of the facts as such but are working on information we got from another source, But thank you all anyway I'll keep searching and hopefully find an answer eventually.

In 1979 I took my mother to the Registrar, which was in Bridgeman Terrace at the time, to register my grandmother's death, and in front of us it was written into the register, which was a very ornate book, and about two feet wide, with thick embossed pages, and on the opposite page was the previously registered death, which was of a 19yr old lad from Coppull, who had been killed in a motorcycle crash, and he had died from internal injuries, and reading that shook me up a bit.
